Delivering a ruling, Justice Okon Abang, held that the bail application for Maina lacked merit.
Justice Abang said though it was at the court’s discretion to grant bail, the ex-pension reformed boss did not deserve bail after jumping the first bail.
Also, the court ruled that Maina did not place sufficient materials before the court to convince the court that he deserves the second bail.
He said the medical report brought from the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital showed that Maina was not under any medical emergency.
The judge said he was not only a flight risk but a proving risk; having fled to the Republic of Niger and Chad in violation of the court order.
“He has disappointed the court,” he ruled.
The court on November 18, 2020, ordered the trial of Maina in absentia after he jumped bail.
Also on December 4, 2020, the court ordered Maina to be remanded in prison custody; pending the hearing and final determination of his matter.
Maina, through his lawyer, Anayo Adibe, on Jan. 20, approached Justice Abang in a motion on notice.
He argued that the application became necessary over his worsening health condition.
In the motion, the ex-pension boss told the court that he had reasonable and responsible sureties; who were willing to act as sureties if granted bail.
Debunking the argument that he had jumped bail, Maina said he fled to the Republic of Niger to have a kneel surgery.
According to him, If the knee surgery had not been done, his leg would have been amputated.

Sixty-two inmates have died in riots at prisons in three cities in Ecuador as a result of fights; between rival gangs and an escape attempt, authorities said Tuesday.
Prisons Director Edmundo Moncayo said in a news conference that 800 police offices have been helping to regain control of the facilities.
Hundreds of officers from tactical units had been deployed since the clashes broke out late Monday.
Moncayo said that two groups were trying to gain “criminal leadership within the detention centers”; and that the clashes were precipitated by a search for weapons carried out Monday by police officers.
Photographs and videos on social media show alleged inmates decapitated and dismembered amid pools of blood.
President Lenín Moreno tweeted that he has ordered the Ministry of Defense “to exercise strict control of weapons; ammunition and explosives in the outer perimeters of prisons” as a result of this week’s riots.
Moncayo said that close to 70% of the country’s prison population lives in the centers where the unrest occurred.
Minister of Government Patricio Pazmiño sent a tweet blaming “the concerted action of criminal organizations to generate violence in the country’s prisons;” but added, “We are managing actions to regain control.”
Plateau chapter of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) on Tuesday said that no farmer has been arrested carrying AK 47 in the state .
Chairman of the association Mr.John Wuyep disclosed this while speaking with Viewpoint NG in Jos.
Wuyep was reacting to a statement made by the Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong who yesterday lamented the proliferation of arms amongst herders and farmers in the country.

Lalong, who is also the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum had said “Today, we are now seeing the hazard of allowing people do open grazing here and there. But they (herders) also want solution; by the time you explain to them, they also want to stay in one place, they would also want to keep away from carrying AK-47. I’m not justifying anybody to carry AK-47 but don’t forget that in the course of our deliberations and investigations, it was not only Fulani herdsmen that were carrying AK-47, even farmers were carrying AK-47.
He stated this while featuring on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ monitored by our correspondent .
Reacting to the statement Wuyep said carrying AK-47 is a big offense , farmers in the state are law abiding , they go about their business peacefully .
So far in Plateau ,there has been no case of any farmer caught with AK 47 or any weapon he added .
Plateau State Governor and chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Simon Bako Lalong on Tuesday said Fulani herdsmen alone should not be singled out for blame as carriers of AK-47 because farmers are also guilty of the same offense.
The Governor made this statement while speaking on Channels Television program ‘Sunrise Daily’ when he said an investigation by the Nigerian Governors’ Forum also showed that farmers also carry AK-47 and other firearms for protection.
You will recall that the Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed had incurred the wrath of Nigerians last week when he said herdsmen are compelled to carry AK-47 and other firearms for self-defence.
However, according to Lalong when the farmers-herdsmen crisis occurred in Plateau state, both herdsmen and farmers were arrested with AK-47.

No such a person has never thought about launching a business. Despite all the problems, we are now living in one of the best economic eras. Nowadays, with minimal investment, you can start a home-based business that will generate a decent income for you. But where do you get the most creative business ideas now? What business niches are the most profitable? And how to pick the right direction for your business? Here are some great ideas for starting a home-based business. Get inspired!
What Road to Choose?Of course, there are a huge number of areas of activity that require a significant amount of initial investment for renting space, preparatory work, purchasing equipment, and other needs. However, for those who have decided to start their own business with the necessary skills and qualifications, starting a company won’t necessarily be so expensive. Some can start a business with no start-up capital at all. And even if you only need a small investment initially, you may want to consider getting an inexpensive consumer loan. Besides, at first, you can continue to combine employment and the implementation of your own business project. We suggest that you consider three business ideas that have proven their efficiency.
Many choose to work as a freelancer as their business. It is a great way to start a business without a significant initial investment. In some cases, you won’t need any start-up capital at all. After all, many freelancers work from home using existing equipment. This means they don’t have to worry about spending.
Some freelance occupations include design, programming, and copywriting. These are highly paid professionals who can count on a good income. Besides, often those who have the appropriate skills already have all the necessary equipment, which, as a rule, consists of a computer and specialized software.
Many people sell products through Internet sites or get involved in Forex trading. Most of them choose to open their own online store or use Forextime to make business deals online. Of course, you will need some initial investment for the purchase of goods and contextual advertising. However, you don’t need to purchase a large volume of products first. Once you start trading and making first profits, you can develop your business step by step. As an alternative solution, you can go ahead with trading on the exchange markets in Nigeria. Even if you don’t have experience in this business, you can always learn forex trading in Nigeria and use a demo account for trading/testing purposes.
Mediation can be an interesting business idea. You can work as an intermediary providing services in an area in which you used to work in the past. For example, you can open a marketing or PR agency, a wedding agency or an agency that specializes in organizing children’s birthday parties, an analytical bureau, or an accounting firm. There can be many ideas. When organizing an agency, it is important to think about a list of reliable contractors and potential clients with a good business reputation. This is the key to the success of the intermediary business.

What to Consider?
There are several important questions that you should consider when starting your own business.
Occupation: if you take care of your family and are trying to balance it with your work, then you will probably find it difficult to take the time to find information about starting a business. However, you have to find a solution if you want to achieve real success. Your first task is to figure out what you really want to do when it comes to business.
Project financing: after making a decision based on your own preferences, you will need to figure out how much money it will require. You should take into account all associated costs, including the cost of building up the inventory (if applicable), the cost of equipment, and other necessary items. Having figured out what you need to get started, you can proceed to search for various options for increasing the available funding.
Location: choosing where you will be doing business is another important thing to think about. Many young mothers with young children prefer to arrange an office at home because this allows them to combine work and family care. However, this may not be practical — it all depends on the case of yours. Explore the options and evaluate their availability.
Remember that running a home-based business isn’t an easy task. In fact, you will have to invest a lot of effort to launch the project and achieve the first results.
All ICT Companies both hardware and software in Plateau State must now be annually registered with PICTDA before they can be allowed to do business with MDAs of Government.
This was contained in a circular communicated to all MDAs of the Government in the State yesterday, February 22, 2021.
Quoting from the Plateau State Revenue (Consolidation) Law, 2020 that all companies or vendors who intend to do business with any MDA of the Government of Plateau State must from now register and obtain clearance certificate from the Agency on an annual basis.
This was stated by the Plateau State ICT Development Agency .
However, this is not the first time that the Plateau State ICT Development Agency has waded fully into the implementation of its policy. It started last year through the issuance of an IT clearance guidelines it communicated to all MDAs through the state Auditor General.
In what seems like an update to the guideline, PICTDA is boosting its attempt in ensuring that the sector is regulated and value for money is derived by government.
According to the Director General of the Plateau State ICT Development Agency, Mr. Daser David, “Two things that make sense to us is simply the fact that while we avoid duplication of projects, it is also in the best interest of the Plateau state technology ecosystem that local companies are protected and helped to achieve growth.
The rescue administration through His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, is interested in this sector and is fully committed in exploiting the opportunities it promises our young people. It is against such political will that we are acting”.
In its communication to all MDAs, its statement reads,
“In line with the Plateau State Revenue (Consolidation) Law, 2020 and the rescue administration’s drive towards raising its revenue and streamlining its processes for the purpose of coordination, it has become mandatory that ICT vendors both hardware and software must be registered and certified by PICTDA before they can engage with any MDA of the Government of Plateau State.
while automation processes are really very vital for enabling a lot of government processes and in serving the citizens in a most appropriate way It is very vital that the Plateau State Information & Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA) as mandated by the act establishing it be notified and carried along in every automation endeavour of all MDAs of Government.
