PMAN Hosts Plateau Creative Leaders for Landmark Unity Drive to Reignite Entertainment Industry

In a bold and unprecedented move to revive and reposition Plateau State as Nigeria’s entertainment powerhouse, the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Plateau State Chapter, hosted an historic convergence of creative industry stakeholders under the theme “Unity Drive for Entertainment Revival.” The event brought together leaders from diverse creative sectors including the Actors Guild of Nigeria, DJs, MCs, Dancers, Comedians, Bloggers, Poets, and Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria (FOGMMON), among others.

Ambassador Humphrey Iroegbu, also known as Color and the Governor of PMAN Plateau Chapter, emphasized the essence of the gathering as a unity initiative aimed at restoring the entertainment sector in the state. “This is the first time all heads of creative associations on the Plateau are meeting like this,” he said. “We have everything—talent, resources, creativity. What we need is unity, and that is what this meeting represents.”

He expressed optimism that the collaboration would yield tangible progress. “After this meeting, we believe there will be a positive change. We are laying the foundation for Plateau’s entertainment sector to thrive again.”

Matthew Tegha, Chairman of the Plateau Bloggers and Online Media Association (PLABOMA), described the meeting as timely and strategic. “This platform allows us to harness our collective energies, share ideas, and create synergy across various sectors,” he said. Tegha emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting that disunity has long hindered growth in the entertainment sector. “We are here to synergize, to learn from one another, and to put Plateau back on the map.”

Augusta Isaac, Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Plateau State Chapter, echoed similar sentiments, declaring the meeting “the best of its kind.” He lamented the exploitation of local talents by external producers who pay Lagos-based actors well but underpay those in Plateau. “With this united front, we now have the power to set standards. We will no longer allow Plateau talents to be taken for granted,” he affirmed.

Patience Agada, also known as Word’s Diva from the Poets & Writers Community, noted the passionate, results-driven nature of the gathering. “This isn’t just another talk shop. Everyone here is laying out practical steps and bringing real strategies to the table. We’re all in with our ideas, energy, and integrity,” she said.

A critical session was held during the meeting where stakeholders discussed the challenges affecting the entertainment industry and proposed actionable solutions. Issues such as lack of standardization, disunity among associations, and external exploitation were tabled, with participants agreeing on the need for structural reforms and a shared sense of ownership.

The meeting closed with a strong call to action for all creatives to identify and align with relevant professional associations. Ambassador Iroegbu stressed, “You cannot be a creative without belonging to a union. Associations help protect, guide, and promote talent. That’s the path to growth.”

This landmark unity gathering marks a turning point for Plateau State’s entertainment industry, signaling a new era of collaboration, empowerment, and cultural renaissance. The creative leaders have not only shared a vision but committed themselves to rebuilding the Plateau entertainment ecosystem with passion, strategy, and unity.

Nzem Berom 2025 Leaves Lasting Impressions as Festival Celebrates Resilient Women

The 2025 edition of the Nzem Berom Festival in Plateau State has been hailed as a remarkable celebration of heritage, unity, and the indomitable spirit of Berom women. Held under the theme “Celebrating the Prowess, Gallantry and Resilience of Berom Women: Past and Present,” this year’s festival honored the immense contributions of women to the growth, preservation, and development of the Berom nation.

The event drew dignitaries from across Nigeria, including state and federal officials, traditional rulers, and cultural enthusiasts. The festival paid tribute to a host of celebrated women including Ngo Naomi Vou Jugu, Ngo Hannatu Chollom, Justice Jummai Chundung Sankey, Ngo Josephine Chundung Piyo, and former Minister Ngo Sarah Reng Ochekpe. These icons were recognized for their roles in nation-building, justice, health, governance, and humanitarian service.

Senator Simon Mwadkwon, Chairman of the Main Planning Committee and former Senate Minority Leader, described the festival as a historic platform to reinforce the beauty of Berom identity and cultural strength. “This year’s theme is not only timely but symbolic, as it pays tribute to the courageous spirit of our women, past and present,” he remarked. He also extended gratitude to Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by Hajiya Fatima Tajudeen Abbas, and to His Majesty, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, for the privilege to lead the planning once more.

In a stirring address, Arc. Samuel Nanchang Jatau, representing Governor Dr. Kefas Agbu, applauded the celebration of women’s legacy. “The gallantry of Berom women remains a beacon of hope and strength,” he said, reflecting on personal memories and highlighting figures like Justice Sankey and Sarah Ochekpe. He emphasized the need to preserve cultural heritage and commended the festival for spotlighting unsung heroines whose daily sacrifices strengthen society.

His Majesty, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, presented certificates of honor to distinguished women and bestowed the revered title De Teyei on Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her humanitarian efforts. He seized the moment to address pressing social issues, especially the growing menace of child trafficking. “This is shameful and must be confronted. Government must empower the Ministry of Women Affairs and put systems in place to monitor orphanages,” he warned, calling on traditional leaders to take an active stand.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang, represented at the event, praised the deep cultural roots and leadership of Berom women in community development and peacebuilding. “They have played vital roles in agriculture, enterprise, and the sustenance of our values,” he said. He prayed that the festival would usher in a peaceful and productive farming season.

In her goodwill message, Hajiya Fatima Abbas conveyed Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s admiration for the cultural pride demonstrated by the Berom people. “This festival aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in food security and women’s empowerment,” she said.

Plateau State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Caroline Panglang Dafur, speaking on behalf of Dr. Ima’an Suleiman Ibrahim, emphasized the significance of culture as both a legacy and a path forward. “Let us protect our heritage while promoting peace, justice, and inclusion,” she urged.

President of the Berom Educational and Cultural Organization (BECO), Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop, closed the event with heartfelt gratitude. “We have witnessed unity, cultural pride, and an unforgettable celebration of our women,” he said. He also announced progress on the Berom Technology Hub, adding, “We look forward with hope to an even greater celebration in 2026.”

Attendees expressed similar sentiments. One guest said, “It’s inspiring to see our women celebrated this way. They truly are the backbone of our community.” Another added, “From the music to the messages, everything about this year’s Nzem Berom was powerful.”

Indeed, Nzem Berom 2025 was more than a festival—it was a heartfelt tribute to the women who have shaped, and continue to shape, the future of the Berom people.

Welcome to “The Power of Pages” A library Renovation & Book donation initiative.

By Queen Jael Kallamu — Queen of Queens Nigeria 2025

As a passionate advocate for education and empowerment, I believe that every child regardless of background, deserves access to quality learning resources. My name is Queen Jael Kallamu, the reigning Queen of Queens Nigeria 2025, and I’m proud to use my platform to launch a transformative project called “The Power of Pages” A Library Renovation & Book Donatiom initiative.

This initiative is rooted in one powerful belief: books change lives.

In far too many schools across Nigeria, libraries are neglected or nonexistent. Shelves sit empty, books are outdated, and children are left without the basic materials they need to dream big and learn freely. Through The Power of Pages, we aim to change that narrative one school at a time.

About the Project

The Power of Pages is dedicated to:
• Renovating and restoring school libraries in underserved communities
• Donating books and educational materials to fuel imagination and growth
• Creating a safe, vibrant, and resourceful environment for students to learn and thrive

This project isn’t just about books. It’s about building futures. A child who reads is a child who imagines, creates, and aspires. By giving students access to a proper library, we’re opening the door to a world of possibilities.

How You Can Support:

This mission cannot succeed without the generous support of people like you. Here’s how you can get involved:
• Cash Donations: These will go directly toward library renovations, furniture, and book purchases.
• Stationery Supplies: Items such as notebooks, pens, pencils, and learning aids are always needed.
• Partnerships: We welcome collaborations with individuals, brands, NGOs, schools, and organizations that share our vision.

Join the Movement

Your support, no matter how big or small can make a lifelong impact on a child’s education. Together, we can create learning spaces that inspire, uplift, and empower.

If you’re ready to make a difference, please send a message via the contact section of this site or leave a comment below. Donation details are also available on the official flyer.

Let’s empower the next generation, one page at a time.

The House of Representatives has extended its solidarity and support to Plateau State following a series of violent attacks that have devastated several communities. As part of its intervention, the House donated a total of N100 million to the Plateau State Government and select Local Government Areas affected by the unrest.

A delegation of federal lawmakers, led by former Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Idris Wase, presented the donation on behalf of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas. The lawmakers, all from Plateau State, were mandated by the Speaker to visit the state and express condolences to the government and people over the tragic incidents.

Rt. Hon. Wase, while presenting the cheques to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, emphasized that the intervention was part of the National Assembly’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of affected communities and to demonstrate national solidarity during trying times.

The donation was broken down as follows: N50 million to the Plateau State Government, N20 million each to Bassa and Bokkos Local Government Areas, and N10 million to Riyom Local Government Area.

Governor Mutfwang expressed deep appreciation to the House of Representatives and the Plateau caucus for their compassion and unity. He noted that the support was timely and a testament to their commitment to the well-being of the people.

The Governor also drew attention to broader infrastructural needs, stressing the urgency of improving rural road networks and communication systems to enhance security response in vulnerable areas.

In addition to the attacks, Governor Mutfwang highlighted the recent fire outbreak at the makeshift Terminus Market in Jos, which resulted in significant losses for traders. Describing the incident as a painful setback, he pledged that the state government would act swiftly to assist affected traders.
