Highlights of Day Four
4th July, 2022
The Day started with an affirmation that Duke Wildee is immune from possible eviction this week alongside the Duchess Unique Glo and two others who were outstanding during the Audition Online Votes.
The Royal Court opened for the first time and 2 petitions were presented. The 2nd petition was against Duke Wildee for mocking at Vanny’s Hausa accent. However, Vanee stunned the Court by recanting that she had nothing against Wildee, and that her petition was against ‘Wealth’ and not Wildee. It is assumed that she made a spelling mistake when filing her case. The case is yet to be thrown out, and it has been adjourned to Monday.
Duke Wildee presided over a House Meeting were they did a post mortem of the Court Session. Wildee used the opportunity to admonish them not to take things to heart, because it is not always about winning and that their rising to stardom is tied to knowing someone in the House, and it shouldn’t be taken for granted.
The day ended with a Diary Session where Wildee appreciated everyone including his Family & Friends, especially Pst Karis, GloryZone Family and The Creative Impact Network.

There was Diary Session for each of the 28 Housemates with Royal Enforcer. Housemates who spoke about Wildee’s reign as Duke described it as satisfactory. Regarding Wildees personality, they don’t really see him as a threat in the contest. Also, even though from a distance he may appear as pompous, they have generally judged him to be a nice person and a very great who always tries to interact with fellow Housemates.
Their day ended with a briefing on the operations of the Royal Court which will open on Day Four.

Security Sources on Wednesday revealed that soldiers deployed to Kuje vicinity and the Correctional Center’s enviroment, who had mastered the terrain and acclamitised, were moved out and redeployed 24 hours before terrorists attacked Kuje Prison.
The source wondered why it is 24 hours after troop’s who had come to understand the vicinity were withdrawn and new ones who were yet to settle in arrived that the terrorists struck.
However, Vanguard was told that the period that the soldiers were supposed to stay in that deployment had elapsed and they were due for rotation.
Meanwhile, security sources have informed Vanguard that the terrorists were able to beat checkpoints mounted by security agencies through the use of motorcycles.
One source said that when the terrorists wanted to commence the operation, they opened volleys of bullets sporadically which made many residents take to their heels thus clearing the way for the terrorists to operate.

The Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi says 64 Boko Haram suspects escaped from the Kuje Prison after the attack on the facility on Tuesday night.
Addressing newsmen after taking an assessment tour of the facility on Wednesday, July 6 the Minister said the attack on Kuje Prison started around 10:30pm with heavy gunfire and explosions.
He said they came in their numbers, gained entrance into the Kuje prison, and released some of the inmates who are now at large adding that some had been recaptured.
“Very soon, we will give you the correct figure of the inmates that were taken, aside from that, we are trying to see what we can do to ensure that all escapees are returned.
“The prison is accommodating about 994 inmates, over 600 escaped and many have been recaptured and brought back to the prison.
“Maybe by the close of the day, more will have been captured and returned.
“I think everything is under control and the people who came to do this activity, from the records, we believe they belong to a particular group.
“Most likely, they are Boko Haram members because we have a sizeable number of Boko Haram suspects in detention, and presently we cannot locate any of them.
“I think they are about 64 in the prison and none of them is available now, they have all escaped,” he said.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Shuaib Belgore, disclosed this while giving an update on the attack in a chat with journalists on Wednesday.
Belgore noted that Boko Haram terrorists, who came to rescue their members, were responsible for the prison attack.
He added that they were equipped with sophisticated explosives which aided their entry into the prison facility.
“The initial entry attempt was unsuccessful, then they attacked another section of the wall with higher-grade explosives which brought the wall down.
“The forces on the ground did everything they could to repel them but the number they came with was high which they were not able to defend against. They kept on fighting gallantly unfortunately the breach happened. Reinforcement came when they were halfway through it. They were eventually repelled,” he said.
